We believe that correct written English is essential for effective communication. It is important for business and professional lives. Too many of us make mistakes in English unintentionally. Some may not be confident enough in the use of English because it is not their native language.
An unchecked document or piece of writing of any kind may not fully convey the message to the reader, or due to its mistakes the reader will not take it seriously enough. This is often in detriment to the author.
Proofreading is usually the last stage of preparing a document after it has been edited. Computer spellcheckers are good to use but they have their limitations. They are often unable to distinguish the correct tense or whether a word is correct. For example, the word 'hole' may be accepted when the correct word should have been 'whole'.
